About

Ripley County Reads is a partnership between the three public library systems in Ripley County, Indiana and Ripley County Tourism. The libraries are the Batesville Memorial Public Library, Osgood Public Library, and Tyson Library.

The partnership began in 2018 with the Indiana Humanities One State/One Story: Frankenstein, which celebrated the 200 year since publication of the classic science fiction novel. It was so successful, everyone agreed to formally organize Ripley County Reads in 2019. That year also was One Giant Leap, a series of programs and events based on the 50th anniversary of the Moon Landing.

Everyone is looking forward to 2020 and beyond as Ripley County Reads grows and branches out into new opportunities!

Ripley County Reads is dedicated to providing educational and enjoyable programs to the Ripley County Community. Since this original post in 2019, we have coordinated the 2020 and 2021 Ripley County Park Hop, a local author fair, a community read program, and are in the process of coordinating even more events for the future!
