One State/One Story: Community Read: autumn 2020

In partnership with Indiana Humanities, Ripley County Reads is a host for this year’s Community Read. The book is The Year We Left Home by Jean Thompson. This program is still under development, however, each Library will have a book discussion, speakers, and events. It’s likely that the author will visit and host a program, as well. WHILE RIPLEY COUNTY READS IS GRATEFUL FOR THE OPPORTUNITY FROM INDIANA HUMANITIES TO OFFER THIS PROGRAM TO OUR COMMUNITY MEMBERS, WE ARE TRYING TO ENSURE THE SAFETY OF OUR PATRONS AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC. We have decided to cancel this event and all events related to the 2020 One State One Story Community Read.

Check back for more exciting news, and visit the Indiana Humanities website for more information about this years One State/One Story Community Read. Click here for more information on Jean Thompson’s Back Home Again Tour.

How-to nature trail: January-February 2020

Inspired by a similar event at the Louisville Free Public Library, each Library location will host 4 - 6 local experts on an outdoor or nature topic for one Saturday in January or February. The ‘Trail’ doesn’t refer to an actual hiking trail, but rather the ‘trail’ you’ll follow from one library to another.

Each library will have unique topics, though some topics are more loosely related to the outdoors/nature than others. Everyone is invited to attend and speak with the experts. Topics range from Birdwatching to Watercolor Painting.

For more information on dates and specific topics, please visit the events webpage.
